Bonjour

Bonjour French Bakery Cafe is located in a purple farm house in Mt Washington. Bonjour’s counters and cases are filled with the creations of French Pastry Chef and Boulanger, Gerard Billebault. More than a dozen varieties of breakfast sweets; including croissant, pain au chocolat, muffins, and assorted cookies, as well as a a selection of classic French desserts; cakes, tarts, tortes both large and individual servings,and savory quiche, provencal pissaladierre, lunch croissant, and flat bread pizzas. Fresh baked French baguettes, and ciabatta loaves are also available fresh every day. Bonjour serves freshly roasted coffee, espresso drinks, & hot chocolates that can be enjoyed in the small cafe or taken out. Chef will create desserts to special order, and also specializes in petite fours and wedding cakes. Thursday Nights Bonjour is open for dinner from 5-8pm serving up savory dinner crepes and sweet dessert crepes. A complimentary glass of wine comes with any dinner crepe.

Bonjour opened in 1998. A shop became available in a sweet little purple farm house on Falls Road. Initially, Bonjour was just going to be open for the holiday season, making and selling the classic French, Buche de Noel (yule log cake.) Now it’s been more than fourteen years and Bonjour has established a tradition for providing fine breads, breakfast sweets, pasries and desserts. In the process we have made our customers our friends, and become part of the fabric of the Mt. Washington community. Most weeks Bonjour is open until 8pm on Thursday serving dinner and dessert crepes.

Gerard Billebault was born in Paris, France. Gerard’s father was a master Boulanger, and Gerard began working with his father after school and on weekends when he was a small boy. Gerard immigrated to the U.S., opening the first French Bakery in Philadelphia, relocating to Baltimore in 1995.
