Andrew Alverson, my father, was injured on his job as a warehouseman in the early 60’s. He was offered retraining by the State of Calif. in a job that he could perform with his injuries. He was trained as a furniture upholsterer under a Master Upholsterer at a state facility located in Stockton, California. He worked under this Master Upholsterer for several years before branching out into his own business. He started doing jobs for family and friends for free to hone his upholstering skills.
