With over 3,000 square feet of the latest in running, walking, and hiking shoes, yoga, adventure travel and functional sportswear apparel, swimming and endurance sports accessories, The Treadmill is often described as the locally owned and operated “Mom and Pop REI” of the Monterey Peninsula.

Established in 1983.
For over 29 years The Treadmill has been serving the Monterey & Carmel active community with some of the best service & products the industry has to offer. Since being purchased in April of 2012 by two couples, two of which are brother and sister, The Treadmill has taken on a second life. New and exciting changes are constantly happening at the Treadmill. From free yoga classes to caring for your active body workshops, bra nights to video analysis running clinics, under new ownership the Treadmill is not only striving to be the adventure’s “go to” place, but the place where everybody knows your name.
