Soothe the Sole launched in April of 2016 in an effort to broaden the offering of stylish, quality shoes in Pittsburgh. With encouragement from orthopedic surgeons at UPMC such as Dr. Carl Hasselman, Soothe the Sole took shape. With her experience in fashion and seeking the functionality that many stylish shoes lack, Kiersten Ferno hand-curated an assortment of shoes that are trend-right as well as suitable for every day (and all-day) wear.

Having grown up in Oakmont with parents who own small businesses in the Pittsburgh area, Kiersten Ferno decided to pursue a business of her own that could also serve the community. Her experiences managing a sales office, curating for Emy Mack Collective, functioning as an assistant buyer for American Eagle Outfitters corporate, and mentoring aspiring business owners, compounded to create a drive to open her own shoe boutique. She is excited to offer new, emerging brands as well as staples to locals, adding a differentiated, young perspective when assorting incredible footwear available to Pittsburgh shoppers.
