Jaime worked for Pacific Grove Jewelers for many years as a bench jeweler, before venturing out on his own. He opened The Bench Jeweler in May 2001, where he started to build his clientele mostly by word-of-mouth. After 14 years at the same location, The Bench Jeweler, relocated to downtown Monterey, where Jaime continues to provide excellent customer service to his original customer base and establish new relationships with new customers.

Jaime was trained in jewelry repair and fabrication by the original owner of Pacific Grove Jewelers, Steve Melino, Master Jeweler, from 1991 through 1993. Upon completing his training, he was employed by PG Jewelers until 2001, when he decided to pursue the American Dream and opened his own shop, The Bench Jeweler in May 2001. Jaime is experienced in all phases of jewelry fabrication and has become the trusted jeweler for many of his customers, who have been with him since 2001.
