The Allspicery is the brainchild of Heather Wong, who in 2015 was inspired by her deep and lifelong love of flavor to pursue a career in spices. Since her early childhood, Heather has always had a passion for cooking and discovering new ingredients and culinary techniques. Later in life she developed a serious passion for travel, which continues to serve as her biggest culinary inspiration. After growing frustrated with the scarcity of ethnic spices in the Sacramento area, Heather finally decided to open the kind of shop that she had always dreamed of – one that would allow her to learn and continue her exploration of exotic cuisines. She ultimately submitted her idea into the Downtown Sacramento Foundation’s third annual Calling All Dreamers competition, won the grand prize, and the rest is history!

Heather Wong worked as a renewable energy sales professional for several years before realizing her dream of opening her own spice shop. She enjoys cooking food, eating food, and collecting fun and unusual life experiences. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 2 kids.
