Whether you are in need of an emergency same-day visit, simply looking for a change in your routine dental care, or have decided to transform your smile with specialized orthodontics, Smith Dental can be the primary resource for all of your oral healthcare needs. We’re located in Smyrna, Spring Hill, and Madison TN, and offer extended hours where we routinely see patients until 8 pm during the week, as well as limited Saturday appointments. Our Clinical team at Smith Dental is comprised of two dentists, an orthodontist and an oral surgeon. Working side-by-side each day under the same roof, we are able to collaborate in real-time to coordinate treatment between clinical teams. By improving the quality and efficiency by which doctors communicate, patients enjoy more convenient scheduling options, shorter overall treatment time from start to finish, and a smoother clinical experience. Dr. Rob Smith started Smith Dental in 2016 after seeing the need for more efficient patient care in dentistry. In the past, when a general dentist felt their patient could benefit from specialty care, like orthodontics or oral surgery, the patient would typically be referred to an outside specialist for evaluation and treatment. At Smith Dental we offer all branches of dentistry under one roof, with providers that pass each other in our halls every day. While Dr. Smith specializes exclusively in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Phillip Tischbein is our general dentist focusing on creating your perfect smile with beautiful dental restorations, implant dentistry, and porcelain veneers.

Dr. Smith is passionate about creating beautiful smiles! After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2003, Dr. Smith attended Harvard University for his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, where he learned the art and science of dentistry from world class instructors and mentors. In 2012, he began an orthodontic residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as Chief Resident, providing braces, Invisalign, surgical orthodontics and cleft lip/palate orthodontics. Dr. Smith now specializes exclusively in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics creating beautiful smiles with Invisalign and braces for children and adults.

Outside of the office he loves exploring Tennessee with his wife Heidi and their five children!
