Redux

Redux is a gallery and jewelry boutique featuring primarily local and handmade art, craft, jewelry accessories and gifts. Most of the items are made from unique, repurposed or recycled materials, or utilize unusual design. We also carry imports made of recycled materials from fair trade companies. Lovingly handcrafted and conceived locally, our indie artisans often utilize sustainable business practices in addition to delivering smokin hot styles you actually want to be wearing.

Established in 2005.
Redux originally evolved from the dual custom work space and tiny showroom at the 811, but gradually became overflowing with other artist work. Since then we have expanded and look forward to doubling the space in Jan 2009, in order to meet the increasing demand for unusual, handcrafted and original work. Currently Redux carries the work of over 120 artists, mostly from the NW, and actively participates in monthly First Friday artwalks with other local galleries to bring you featured work from artists utilizing a similar aesthetic celebrating the found, embellished, appropriated, deconstructed, and reinvented object.

Proprietress, Tamara Goldsmith, has been working in metal, glass and a variety of other mediums all her life. She went to school for Jewelry and Metalsmithing at U of Oregon, and worked as a fine jeweler through college, continuing as an independent jewelry designer after moving to Portland in 1998. As purveyor, collector, crafter and assemblage artist of found treasures, she yearned for a studio and gallery where she could peddle her funky wares along with other like-minded artisans. Nestled at the 811 building near the arteries of downtown Portland, she found her perfect ever-evolving community and thrives there today. Redux supports hundreds of local artists and showcases a huge variety of styles of jewelry, accessories and art.
