Established in 1964.
In 1987, Dr. Mike joined Dr. Alan Miyamoto’s practice of patient centered, uncompromised dental care. In 2016, as part of their commitment to excellence, they followed other Maui offices in becoming a fee-for-service practice. This change means that this office has no contract with insurance companies so there is more freedom to provide all the modern and cosmetic treatment options that patients search them out for without the restrictions and limitations of an insurance controlled practice. All dental insurances are still welcome here (except Medicaid) and All claims are still being filled for you, just as we always have done. Although Hawaii is one of the states that allow insurance companies to discriminate by reimbursing patients in a fee-for-service practice less than an insurance controlled practice, Dr. Mike and his team feel it is important to continue the legacy of uncompromised care and provide these unique treatment options most other practices on Maui cannot offer.

Dr. Michael Miyamoto graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. His goals are to treat each patient with the compassion they deserve, to provide a clean, comfortable and caring environment for his patients, to earn their trust, and to spend the time necessary to discuss all treatment options so patients can make informed and educated decisions based on their specific wants and needs.
Dr. Mike has been voted Honolulu magazine’s Top Dentists and Best Dentists in Hawaii by his peers for the last several years. Like his father (Dr. Alan) before him, Dr. Mike gives back to his community by participating in the Donated Dental Service Program (Dental Lifeline Network Hawaii) that provides free dentistry to members of our community that would otherwise not be able to afford quality dental treatment. He has been doing so since 2002.
