We donate a pair of underwear for every item sold. The roots of MADI Apparel (Make a Difference) began developing in 2012 after founder Hayley Besheer Santell had an intimate conversation with a close family member in which she learned of the woman’s toxic, abusive relationship with a past boyfriend who threatened to kill her/her loved ones. The conversation opened her eyes to the possibility that even the strongest, most confident women can find themselves trapped in a domestic violence situation. The MADI Mission truly bloomed after Hayley learned a shocking statistic – underwear is the most NEEDED, UNDER-DONATED item of clothing in the US. New, clean underwear tops the “most urgent needs list” of nearly every domestic violence shelter. Numerous organizations credit underwear as an assisting factor in helping women feel confident and comfortable during times of distress/healing.

Hayley started MADI Apparel in 2012 after learning that underwear is the most needed and under-donated item of clothing. She created a brand that would donate a pair of new underwear to woman all over the world for every item sold.

Hayley attended University of Missouri and now resides in Kansas City, MO where MADI Apparel is headquartered. She has been featured in Forbes, BBC News, Entrepreneur, on the cover of HerLife and in television news features all over the US.
