In 1948, Master jeweler, Jules Madere opened a jewelry repair and custom design shop in an office located on Third street in downtown Baton Rouge. What started in a second floor office grew to become the oldest family owned jewelry store in Baton Rouge. In 1989, Jules retired handing the reins over to his son Wayne Madere. Wayne began apprenticing his father at the age of 13 becoming a Master jeweler himself. Over the years, we’ve had some interesting clients. Elvis Presley, Paul Newman, “Dizzy” Dean, and production companies needing a custom piece for a film.
