Joe worked for GTE Telephone Operations for 11 years in sales management and regulatory positions, followed by 4 years running a venture funded telecom start up. During these years Joe was blessed with the ability to travel across the US as a part of routine business. Not enamoured with the routine nightlife that road travel often brings, Joe sought out “chef’s tables” at better restaurants in the cities in which he traveled. What resulted was a passion for quality food and respect for the people who farmed, raised, and fished for the products. Joe felt that a retail store where quality locally sourced and sustainable proteins were offered to the public, with great service and a willingness to educate how to cook and use the products would be a great success. Joe’s Butcher Shop and Fish Market was born and with the support of his wife Kathy, family, friends and loyal customers Joe’s has become “the” premier spot to purchase the best proteins in metro Indianapolis.
