The Fisherman’s Market provides fresh local fish and seafood in Eugene. We are the only live crab, fresh from boat to table seafood restaurant in town! At Fisherman’s Market, you’ll find a fresh, wild, unusual, wide selection of seafood. Everything on our diverse menu is tasty. We know our fish, and we know the fishermen who bring the freshest seafood from the boat to your dining table. In addition to being a full service fish market, we are one of the largest Dungeness Crab retailers in Oregon! The market is owned by a commercial fishing family. Many of our crew, our fishmongers, have fished the seas as well. We even use our recycled vegie oil to run our vehicles transporting the fish from the coast and the Columbia to our store. We’re proud to support local fishing families in the area. Yep, we’re powered by Fisherman’s Market fish and chips too – undeniably the best around. Stop by our store and let us Hook you UP!
Established in 1997.
Seafood has been sold on the corner of 7th and Blair for a long time. The building was constructed in the late 1980’s when Captain Dick Ramus and his wife Carolyn progressed from selling out of a truck, to the current facility. The current owner, Ryan Rogers, bought the business with his lifelong friend, Mike West in 1997. Mike was one of the most creative and prolific restaurateurs in Eugene, and Ryan was looking for something to keep him from getting more battered on the back deck of a king crabber, and still be able to fish salmon in Alaska in the summer. That, and a way to share his love of seafood, while returning to his home town to raise a family with his wife Debbie. Ryan still fishes primarily salmon in Prince William Sound. The rest of the year he relishes the time working with the fishermen that catch the fish we bring to your table. Oh, and most of that fish makes it to our store in Ry’s truck running on the veggie oil your fish and chips were cooked in. Cool huh?Ryan R.
Business Owner
Ryan grew up in Eugene before it was what it is today. In college he travelled with his brothers to Alaska, working on-shore in a tiny village called Togiak. One day a local Yupik Eskimo fisherman needed someone to join him for a few days of fishing. Ryan jumped at the chance.
In true Alaska fishing story fashion he progressed from gillnetting, to seining, to eventually working on deck on King Crabbers. Yep, just like the guys on Deadliest Catch. No Records Found
