Established in 1955.
Federal Way Custom Jewelers has served South King County for three generations. It remains the oldest continuously operating jewelry store in the region. Rene purchased the store in 1980 and moved it to its current location in 1995. We started as a traditional mom-and-pop store, but under Rene’s stewardship we moved into more custom jewelry and one-of-a-kind pieces using colored gemstones and diamonds. Rene loves to be a part of our clients’ special occasions. Rene hired Brandon as Operations Manager in 2008. He brings a passion for antique & estate jewelry which now makes up a large portion of our business. We now offer even more repair & restoration services to meet the demand of our inventory. We extend this amazing jewelry knowledge and repair capability to our clients. Brandon is also instrumental in building our online store and moving us forward technologically. Brandon is our Operations Manager, antique jewelry buyer, and colored gemstone expert. He is the face of Federal Way Custom Jewelers online and on social media, and is the go-to person for all jewelry questions.

Brandon has been working for us since 2008 and collecting gemstones and jewelry since childhood. Brandon received a BS from Seattle University in molecular biology, but has since studied gemology coursework online and has attended jewelry lectures and appraising seminars at trade shows around the country. Brandon is fond of saying that custom jewelry and rare gemstones can’t be taught from textbooks, and he thanks our owner, Rene, for giving him an amazing on-the-job education.

Brandon is responsible for managing the behind the scenes operations of our store. He also runs our website, online marketing, and social media efforts. Along with our owner Rene, Brandon buys our inventory and helps our designers find amazing gems for our clients.
