Brookside Barkery & Bath is a full and self-service dog bathing and grooming facility, as well as an all-natural pet food store for dogs and cats. Our shampoos, flea treatment, and de-shedding Furminator treatment are all chemical and silicone-free. All of the food, nutritional supplements and treats we carry are all-natural. We also carry pet accessories, toys and grooming tools. Our management team carefully scrutinizes every new product before we introduce it into our stores. Additionally, we offer in-store nutritional consultations, health seminars and a wide variety of educational resources to help customers learn about natural and holistic pet care. Our mission is “Better Health through Better Nutrition.” Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date holistic health information to our patrons with the best customer service possible.

The Barkery was founded by Larry and Delena out of love for Aspen, their St. Bernard. Aspen was four years old and in very, very poor health. A local vet advised them that Aspen wouldn’t make it another year.
Wanting to give Aspen the best nutrition possible, but finding that Kansas City lacked natural pet food stores, they decided to found their own.
Well, Aspen lived another eight years, and Brookside Barkery & Bath is celebrating its 10th anniversary as Kansas City’s first, and still best, natural pet care store.
