Andy's Pet Shop

Curbside pickup is safe and convenient. Call ahead, and we’ll carry pet supplies directly to your vehicle. The store is open as usual for indoor shopping. Some services, such as pet adoptions, and pet nail trims may be limited due to staff availability during the current pandemic. All pets need food. We do special orders, and can advise on the best substitutions to keep your pet well-fed, healthy and happy.

Established in 1950.
Andy and his wife Geraldine opened a pet shop in what used to be California Highway Patrol headquarters. Andy’s Pet Shop was known for exotic animals and customers who today are parents and grandparents recall seeing the monkeys and rare birds when they were children. Geraldine continued the business after her husband died and was well-known and widely respected in the pet trade. When she passed on, the daughters sold the business in the early 90’s. In December 2007, Lissa Shoun and Eric Bong bought the shop and converted to 100% Pet Rescue and Adoption. Today all the pets in the shop come from a shelter, a non-profit rescue group, or are surrendered for rehoming due to foreclosure, illness, etc. In 2010, the pet shop was relocated to downtown San Jose in a larger building.
