Born in Forino, Italy, Aniello Violante Sr. came to the United States at the age of 18 with a vision, a trade and a plan. He learned the art of being a butcher in Italy from his father, Antonio. After ten years of working for another local butcher in the United States, Aniello Sr. opened Violante’s Meat Market in October 1969 on Hoffman Boulevard in East Orange, New Jersey. In the Spring of 1978, Aniello Sr. moved the store to 126 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Aniello has made his trade and the art he was taught into a career not only for himself, but also for his son Aniello Jr. At Violante’s we not only carry Prime cuts of meats and cheeses, but we also have prepared foods made fresh daily. Our goal is to deliver the best cuts of Prime meats available to your table each night. We treat every customer like family, and make sure each customer gets enough time and attention. In addition, we offer off premises catering.

Aniello Violante Sr. established Violante’s Meat Market in 1969. His pride and joy was his business and taking care of his customers. He had a great deal of passion for the craft of being a butcher. He learned the trade from his father, Antonio Violante and has passed on the trade to his own son, Aniello Violante, Jr.
