Roberts Corned Meats

Roberts specializes in the production of, what we believe to be, the finest Corned Beef around. We manufacture our products in our plant on Bryant St. in San Francisco and deliver to many restaurants, hotels, bars, etc. all over the Bay Area and beyond. Our cure is what makes our products special as we use ingredients and brining techniques that have been around through five generations since 1910. In additon to corned beef we sell various types of pastrami and cured pork, such as hams, bacon, and Irish bacon. We sell Retail to the public in our store located at the front of our plant and Wholesale to institutions all over the Bay Area.

Roberts was started in 1910 by founder G.H. Roberts here in San Francisco. He used new and inventive brining techniques to speed up the process of curing beef and pork as opposed to older conventional methods. The flavor in the cure he developed, which is a secret family recipe, caught on as he sold his product to institutions throughout the city. He then erected his production plant and office at the location we are today here at 1030 Bryant St. in South of Market. His stepson Henry Dixon took over the business and through five generations, Roberts thrives today as the premier source of Cured Meats in the Bay Area. Current owner and fourth generation, Jim Dixon also known as “The King of Corned Beef” has successfully run Roberts for thirty years and maintained this small local family owned business through many changes in the food industry. Jim attributes the sustainablity of Roberts throughout the years to the quality of the product and the quality of service.

Jim Dixon, owner and fourth generation at the helm of Roberts Corned Meats, runs the business today with his kids, the fifth generation, Debbie and Greg. Keeping Roberts and all of its traditions in the family has been the most rewarding part of all for Jim throughout his thirty years. To maintain and keep a small local family owned business going today in this type of environment is a tribute to the dedication and hard work the family has put in over the years.
