A New York native, Dr. Portman grew up in Brooklyn, the younger of two siblings. She attended Pace University where she was valedictorian of her class and received her undergraduate degree in Biology. After the completion of her degree, Dr. Portman attended New York University College of Dentistry where she earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Following her graduation, Dr. Portman spent an additional year completing her General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital.

Prior to establishing iSmile Dental, Dr. Portman worked in several offices around the New York area gaining valuable experience as an associate dentist. Her experience in operative, fixed, removable and implant prosthetics and attachments, surgical extractions, periodontics, rotary endodontics, orthodontics and periodontal surgeries have been invaluable. She is also certified in Invisalign (invisible orthodontics) and is dedicated to the newest advancements in family and cosmetic dentistry.
