808 Sweet Shack offers unique delicious pies, cakes, and cookies, and is available for purchase in the Historic S.Hata building, or order online. Some of our signature treats are Mini Volcano cakes with tropical flavors such as mango and guava and each named after one of our amazing volcanoes as well as Lilikoi Cheescake, a local favorite and many more. Each item is hand crafted in small batches based on family recipes as well as new creations utilizing the best products Hawaii Island offers. We strive to provide a friendly comfortable location to sit down, and relax and enjoy a treat because “Sometimes even in Paradise, you need a cookie!”

Established in 2017.
The idea for this business was envisioned years ago but the time never seemed right.. After relocating to HIlo Hawaii from Texas, the owners decided is was now time and opened 808 Sweet Shack on April 22, 2019.

Amy started baking when she was very young and learned the those skills from her mother who was a well known cook in Fort Worth, Texas. She has a passion for food and desserts in particular.
After working professionally with Executive Chefs in the airline catering industry for many years, she and her husband Troy relocated their dream destination of Hilo Hawaii. It was here they believed the time was right to share their sweet treats with locals and tourists alike.
