Allen’s Jewelers is one of the only family owned fine jewelry stores in Charlotte. Our mother-daughter-dog loving establishment makes buying jewelry an exciting experience. As members of American Gem Society, each item of jewelry is specifically chosen with top quality gems and craftsmanship. We specialize in fine diamonds, colored gems and pearl jewelry. Redesigning is a service we are most known for, by taking the time to listen and remake exactly what our customers are envisioning. Working closely with customers on custom jewelry has earned us a high reputation since 1989. We are proud winners of the Spectrum Award for Excellent Customer Service for six years in a row as well as the 2015 and 2016 Best Business (jewelry category) of Charlotte.

Allen’s Jewelers was started in 1989 by Graduate Gemologist, Karen Allen. In 2002 it became the first woman owned jewelry store in Charlotte to be admitted to the American Gem Society. This Society demands the highest of ethics, education and standards in the industry and Allen’s is proud to be a part of it. The store built it’s reputation on excellent quality in diamonds, colored gems and pearls as well as customer service. For 25 years it was located in the Myers Park area of Charlotte in a 100 year old quadraplex on Circle Avenue. Over the years Karen Allen has worked with high profile customers nation wide. One of our customer’s engagement rings has even been blessed by the Pope! In 2014 Allen’s Jewelers relocated to the current store in the Cotswold area to offer over 2,000 square feet of unique designs in a relaxing atmosphere. Lauren Allen, Karen’s daughter has joined our staff to continue the legacy of one of Charlotte’s finest jewelry stores.

Karen Allen is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, as well as a Certified Gemologist from the American Gem Society. She graduated from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish. Karen and her ex-husband, Ben Allen, had 2 daughters, Jackie and Lauren, and opened Allen’s Jewelers in 1989. With her “sunshine” personality, Karen brings 29 years of exceptional retail service to Charlotte and surrounding areas.
Lauren Allen, the owners daughter, graduated from Syracuse University in the Class of 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies. She worked with Delaware North at Bank of America Stadium, Supervising the Luxury Suites, and continues to work there seasonly. In January 2014, she became apart of the Allen’s Jewelers staff, in the hope of making it a second generation store. She is in the process of getting her Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.
