Shields Market

We are a local family owned neighborhood market. We hate being called a convenience store, because we try to specialize in what our neighbors want. We keep fresh produce on hand often times it’s local. We love it when we have just what you need, maybe a really great olive oil, or Tank’s brownies for dessert. If you’re looking for something awesome and/or hard to find, chances are you’ll find it here. If we don’t have that super awesome thing, ask us. If we can find it, we’ll get it for you. That’s how dedicated we are to our neighbors. We love that you love us and we will keep it up.

The Shields Market was originally called Johnson”s Market back in the days when Joe owned Joe’s Inn. There were several different owners until Sam bought Shields Market. He owned and operated it for 20 years. When the beloved Sam was ready to leave the market he approached Michael at Joe’s Inn. Mari, a long time employee of Joe’s convinced Michael to take over the market. In February of 2008 Michael and Mari unveiled the newly renovated space as the friendly fresh market the neighborhood needed. Since then we have grown and adapted into the place to get almost everything you need plus a little more.
