On Friday March 12, 2004 Rene’s Bakery opened it’s doors with the idea of providing the finest bake goods in all of Indianapolis. Everything we do is handmade. Our croissants and Danish are rolled out and formed by hand. We scoop our cookies and hand form the many varieties of bread. Our pastry case is filled with French macaroons, eclairs, fruit tarts, cake slices, as well a great selections of cakes, tarts and tortes. Come find us in Broad Ripple.

In 1992, I moved to Indianapolis to attend Ivy Tech hospitality program and that is where I met Chef Kevin Goudie, who encouraged me to become a pastry chef. I work for him for 2 years at his wholesale bakery, Just Desserts. Then I was hired as the pastry chef at Something Different by Chef Tony Hanslits. A year later I moved to Bloomington, IN to work at the Uptown Bakehouse. There, I was hired as a pastry cook, but soon became the pastry chef and then a few years later the General Manager. After 5 years at the Bakehouse, I took a job at Ettores in Sacramento CA. I wasn’t there long and soon came bake to Indianapolis to bake at the Columbia Club. A few months after coming back to Indianapolis, I became the pastry chef at Tavola de Tosa for 2 1/2 years. In 2002 I moved to Meridian Hills Country Club for another 2 years. Then in March of 2004, I decided I worked for others long enough and then Rene’s Bakery was born.No Records Found
