Tom Phillips (a.k.a. “The Light Bulb Guy”) is the owner and CEO of Weekends Only Furniture & Mattress. A native St. Louisan, he joined the family business, Phillips Furniture, as a salesperson after graduating from college in 1974. After 23 years in the furniture industry, he founded Weekends Only in 1997 with his brother, David (now retired). Since then, Weekends Only has grown into one of the nation’s Top 100 furniture companies. In 2010, Phillips was selected as a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award.

Phillips has been married for 40 years to his wife, Peggy, and has three grown children. Their daughter Sarah works as a buyer for Weekends Only, and their son Drew manages the e-commerce side of the business.
