Silver in the City opened in July of 2000 in the 700 block of Mass Ave. The selection of sterling silver jewelry was an instant hit. We moved into our current location at 434 Mass Ave in October 2001, expanding to include home furnishings and decor, a department we nicknamed “At Home in the City”. At Home in the City has evolved into fewer furnishing, more decor and a terrific selection of gifts. Silver in the City has evolved to include more handmade jewelry from smaller artists and studios around the country and right here in Indiana. We are an active participant in our community and love seeing familiar faces and meeting new visitors everyday.

I have been living in Downtown Indy since 1997 and have been an avid independent store shopper for most of my life. When traveling I always loved to seek out those “Main Street” type neighborhoods full of fun and funky shops. My mission in opening Silver in the City was to bring a fun unique shopping experience to the Mass Ave neighborhood in Downtown Indy. Through the years I’ve seen Mass Ave explode with new shops and restaurants – you’ve got to come check out our entire community and please be sure to come in for a gift, a giggle and certainly a friendly smile at Silver in the City!
