Established in 2004.
Our business is locally owned and operated by the Hanley family, and has evolved many times over the years. Acme Electric was started in 1945 by Arch Hanley as a radio and appliance repair store. Over the years the business evolved to sell televisions in the 1950s, appliances in the 1960s, computers in the 1970s, and eventually furniture in the 1990s. Furniture soon took over a big part of the business as Arch’s granddaughter, Heather Hanley, returned from college in 2000 to help her father grow that area of the store. By 2004, they realized they needed a name to reflect this new look so “The Tin Roof” was crafted. Today our showrooms feature the nation’s best furniture brands and is staffed by professional interior designers. Our eye for quality furnishings and home decor, as well as our commitment to customer service has earned us top industry accolades and both local and national awards.

The Tin Roof is the evolution a company that my grandfather started in 1945 and my father continued to build. I am the third generation in the same building. I’m proud to have grown The Tin Roof to what is it now, Spokane’s favorite furniture store. Since opening our doors in 1945, we are committed to extraordinary customer service and exceptional products.
